The University is located in Morogoro Municipal, about 200 Km for Dar es Salaam, the commercial city of Tanzania. However, Morogoro does not have a commercial airport and the nearest airport to SUA is the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam.

Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) services by Tanzania Railways Cooperation (TRC) are  available where one can travel for less than 2 hours from Magufuli Railways Station in Dar es Salaam to Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Station in Morogoro. Foreign students are strongly advised to opt for SGR travel because of its reliability and comfort. One can also travel to Morogoro by road and it takes approximately 5 hours from Dar es Salaam.

For those opting to travel to Morogoro by road, they are advised to take buses that end at or pass through Morogoro. Several commercial buses ply between Dar as Salaam and Morogoro and there is often a bus every hour. The last bus from Dar es Salaam leaves at around 7.00 pm. Foreign students coming to Tanzania by air are advised to take an Uber to Magufuli Bus Terminal or Magufuli SGR Railways Station (in Dar es Salaam) for which the cost is between 25-30 US Dollars.

The bus fare from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro (Msamvu Bus Station) is 5 – 10 US dollars and the taxi fare from Msamvu Bus Station to Eduard Moringe Kampus (Main Campus) or Solomon Mahlangu (Mazimbu) Campus is approximately 20 US dollars. Newcomers are strongly advised to avoid opting for commuter buses on the first day of arrival because of some inconveniences.
